LAHORE, August 15 (TNS): After consultation with Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leadership Rafique Rajwana on Wednesday has resigned from governor of Punjab post.
In a media talk , Rajwana said he would return to his profession of being a lawyer after handing over his resignation.
He also added that a new government has come to the fore and it’s their responsibilty now to appoint a new governor of Pakistan’s most populated province.
Furthermore, he stressed that his decision was made after proper consultation with the PML-N leadership.
In 2015, Rajwana was appointed as the 36th governor of Punjab and he replaced Chaudhry Sarwar back then who left PML-N for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Sarwar who is the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s nominee would be appointed governor of the province once again after provincial assembly elects it speaker and deputy speaker.
