Islamabad, Aug. 8 (TNS): Nominated committee by Senate Standing Committee on Interior on Friday reviewed objections of alleged rigging and irregularities during July 25 polls by various political parties.

Informal meeting of the special committee on elections was held under the Chairmanship of Senator A. Rehman Malik here at the Parliament House on Friday.

The meeting was attended by Senator Chaudhary Tanvir Khan, Senator Muhammad Asad Ali Khan Junejo, and Senator Mian Atiq Sheikh.

The committee chairman said that after the elections, ballot papers had been found in garbage dumps, dust bins and along roads, which indicates that the mandate of the people was stolen.

“This warrants a thorough inquiry,” he said.

The committee also took notice of the failure of the Results Transmission System (RTS) and the Result Management System.
