ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan oath taking ceremony costs just Rs 50,000 to national exchequer.

Imran has assumed the office of the country’s the chief executive after a simple oath-taking ceremony at President House where guests including foreign dignitaries were served tea instead of lavish luncheon.

In line with his pre-election promise to adopt austere measures to save public money, the PTI chief reportedly had directed that his oath-taking ceremony be held in a simpler manner.

The oath-taking ceremony at the President House cost the national exchequer way less than those of former premiers Nawaz Sharif and Yousuf Raza Gilani in 2013 and 2008, respectively.

In a tweet post, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Andleeb Abbasi said the oath-taking ceremony of party chief Imran Khan cost a mere amount of Rs50, 000 while Rs92, 00, 000 and Rs76, 00, 000 were spent on the ceremonies of the PML-N supreme leader and PPP’s Yousuf Raza Gilani, respectively.
