PM Imran Khan’s 16 member federal Cabinet takes oath

Islamabad, August 20 (TNS):  Prime Minister Imran Khan’s 16 member federal cabinet, was sworn in on Monday at a ceremony held at the President House.

President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath to the new members of the cabinet, who will assist the prime minister in managing the country.

The ceremony commenced with the national anthem and was followed by recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.

Many Dignataries attended the ceremony along with the prime minister, Imran Khan.

Names of 15 ministers were announced by Spokesperson PTI Fawad Chaudhry.

Later, PM Imran Khan allotted the responsibility of Water and Power Resources Ministry to Khusro Bakhtiar.

As was anticipated, Asad Umar has been awarded ministry of finance whereas Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid has been declared as Khan’s Railways Minister.

Fawad Ch has been named minister of Information and Broadcasting Division. The former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s chief minister Pervez Khattak has been allotted defence ministry.

Other cabinet members include Farogh Naseem (Law and Justice), Tariq Bashir Cheema (Safron), Shireen Mazari (Human Rights), Ghulam Sarwar Khan (Petroleum), Zubaida Jalal (Defence Production), Aamir Mehmood Kiyani (Health), Shah Mahmood Qureshi (Foreign Affairs), Fehmida Mirza (Inter Provincial Coordination), Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui (IT), Shafqat Mahmood (Education) and Noor ul Haq Qadri (Religious Affairs).

The five advisors who will assist the PM in managing the country are Mohammad Shehzad, Dr.Ishrat Hussain, Abdul Razzak Dawood, Amin Aslam and Babar Awan.
