Presidential candidates to submit their nomination papers today: ECP

Islamabad , August 26 (TNS): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)on Sunday has asked those who are contesting Presidential elections to submit their nomination papers to the relevant presiding officers.

Submission of nomination papers by presidential candidates to the presiding officers is allowed till 12 am in main cities of Pakistan including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.

Nomination papers will then be scrutinized by the Chief Election Commission (CEC) at Election Commission Secretariat on Wednesday morning.

The Presidential candidates must bring their identity cards issued by National Assembly or Senate during the scrutiny process.

The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers until Thursday after which the final list will be made public on the same day.

The voting will be carried out through a secret ballot.The president is elected by an electoral college comprising members of the Senate, National Assembly and four provincial assemblies.
