Karachi, August 28 (TNS): The local banking court in Karachi sent Asif Ali Zardari’s close aide Anwar Majeed and his son Abdul Ghani Majeed to jail on Tuesday on a judicial remand till September 4 in money laundering case.

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) told the court that investigation has been completed of the two accused in the case and their is no further need of physical remand, hence they should be sent to jail on Judicial remand.

On this the counsel of Majeed requested the court that his client’s health is not well, so instead of sending him to jail on judicial remand he should be shifted to the hospital.

However, the court dismissed the request of Majeed’s counsel and sent him to jail till September 4 and directed the jail administration to send a medical report of Anwar Majeed after his medical examination.

In a media talk before the hearing, Anwar Majeed said that, FIA raided one of his sugar mills from which weapons and ammunition were recovered and all of them were already licensed.
