Islamabad July 11 (TNS): Election commission of Pakistan (ECP) agreed to form a commission to investigate the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan’s foreign funding during the hearing of the case in Supreme Court.

A three-member bench led by the chief justice heard the case filed by the PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s disqualification.

The ECP, through its counsel Ibrahim Satti, told the apex court Tuesday that the body had no objection to the formation of a commission to probe the PTI’s funds, and that it would cooperate if the SC chose to form one.

Moreover Imran Khan’s legal counsel, Naeem Bukhari said that the case lawyer Anwer Masood is on holidays for 15 days. If court allows he will answer on behalf of Anwar Masood.

Chief Justice of Pakistan said that we can’t postpone the case on request of Anwar Masood, because he did not submit his reply to the court before leaving the country.

Chief Justice further said that PTI chief Imran Khan could hire another lawyer in Anwar Masood’s absence and the PTI chief can defend himself and the party (PTI) and such kind of matter needs cooperation.
