Lahore, Sept. 4 (TNS): Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid says advanced training of concerned staff would be arranged to make Thalassemia program more effective.
Chairing a high level meeting to review Thalassemia program in Lahore, the Minister directed that blood donation drive should be continued on permanent basis.
She said Thalassemia is a genetic problem and through public awareness it could mostly be avoided. She said in case of cousin marriage blood test before wedding is an important way of prevention.
