Multan, Sep 13 (TNS): A total of 486 Muharram processions and 1,555 majalis will be held across the Multan district.
The police have finalized arrangements for providing security to processions and majalis. CCTV cameras would be installed at 100 places. Similarly, people would be searched with help of 600 metal detectors and 80 walk-through gates.
The police also proposed a ban on pillion riding and suspension of mobile phone service for Muharram 9 and 10.
Meanwhile, a control room has been established in Home Department Sindh to monitor law and order situation in the province during Muharram-ul-Haram.
It will maintain communication with all other control rooms established by respective law enforcement agencies, commissioners and deputy commissioners.
