Islamabad, Sep 14 (TNS): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry visited Pakistan Broadcasting Academy in Islamabad on Friday.
He went round various facilities of Academy. Director of News and Current Affairs Javed Khan Jadoon briefed him about working of the institution.
The Minister planted a sapling in the lawns of Academy in furtherance of Government’s tree plantation campaign.
During visit to Radio Museum he took interest in the equipment on display especially the microphone used by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to announce creation of Pakistan.
The Information Minister also visited the studios of China Radio International’s Dosti Channel established at the premises of the Academy.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said Radio Pakistan has been playing a pivotal role in socio-economic progress of the country.
He said present Government is cognizant of the importance of Radio as medium with vast access and would strengthen the institution.
Replying to a question, the Information Minister said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has a key role in economic development of Pakistan.
He said currently 22 projects worth 28 billion dollar are being implemented under the CPEC and 42 billion dollar worth of projects have yet to come. He said CPEC is an expression of deep rooted friendship between the two countries.
The Minister said PTI government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan is investing in future of Pakistan and its hands should be strengthened for the purpose.
He said youth have played important role in the victory of PTI.
