Karachi, Sep 19 (TNS): The 8th of Muharram-ul-Haram is being observed in Karachi like other parts of the country on Wednesday with due solemnity.
In this regard, processions are being taken out from various areas of the city, while Majalis are also being held.
The main procession of 8th Muharram-ul-Haram is being taken out from Nishtar Park and will culminate at Imambargah Hussainia Irania in the evening.
The Government of Sindh has made strict security arrangement for the safety of the participants of the procession and over seven thousand police personnel, Rangers and other law enforcement agencies are deployed around the route of the procession.
The cellular service has been suspended in the areas around the route and ban on pillion riding has been imposed in the city till 10th Muharram-ul-Haram.
