Islamabad, Dec. 07 (TNS): President Dr. Arif Alvi says government is taking all necessary steps to improve the health sector.
Addressing a health symposium organized at PIMS in Islamabad on Friday, he said social cushions like health cards will bring about a visible change in the lives of people as they will not have to worry for expenditures during any illness.
The President said medicine is a noble profession that serves the humanity and social standing of doctors needs to be improved.
He emphasized the importance of medical research for improving the healthcare sector.
The President appreciated the role of Health Minister Amir Mehmood Kayani for bringing visible improvements in his ministry.
He also congratulated the administration and staff of PIMS for expanding the facilities at hospital.
Earlier, Federal Minister for National Health Services and Regulation Amir Mhemood Kayani said healthcare sector will be further improved for facilitation of masses.
He said hospital in Tramri Chowk, Islamabad will be made operational soon while health facilities in Tarnol, Rawat and Bara Kahu will be improved.
He said PM’s vision is to make Islamabad a model city.
Amir Mehmood Kayani said a lot of revenue will be collected by imposing sin tax that will help in improving health care facilities.
