FM, Afghan President discuss ways to further improve bilateral ties

Kabul, Dec. 24 (TNS): Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says peace and stability in Afghanistan will benefit Pakistan as well as the whole region.  

He was talking to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani during a one-on-one meeting in Kabul on Monday.

Both sides discussed ways to improve bilateral relations and resolve important issues of regional and mutual interest.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi expressed good wishes for holding of Afghan parliamentary elections.

Afghan President thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi for playing a crucial role in Afghan peace process.

Earlier, Shah Mehmood Qureshi held a meeting with his Afghan counterpart Salahuddin Rabbani.

The talks, which were also attended by their respective delegations, focused on overall regional situation and bilateral ties.

Both Foreign Ministers agreed to promote two way political, trade and cultural relations.

Minister Qureshi underscored to increase contacts for durable peace and stability in the region.

Afghan Foreign Minister appreciated the efforts of Pakistan for bringing peace in his country.
