Karachi, Jan. 07 (TNS): Chairman DMC Central, Rehan Hashmi had an open meeting with the residents of UC 3 North Karachi Zone here on Saturday. MNAs & MPAs of MQM Pakistan and MD Water Board Karachi also attended the meeting. MPA Waseem Qureshi, Ex-MNA Shaikh Salahuddin saidn that MQM Pakistan is the party of common people and wants to resolve all their problems as soon as possible. Rehan Hashmi listened to the complaints of the residents, who were showing great concern on acute shortage of water in their UC and accused the Karachi Water Board authorities of the miseries faced by the people. They accused officers and other employees of the Water board including the valve-men of diverting supply of water towards other areas and selling the water to the Tanker Mafia. Rehan Hashmi, taking into consideration the reality of the problem, promised to do maximum efforts to resolve the problem of water shortage. MD Water board Asad ullah khan assured the Chiarman DMc, Assembly members of MQM Pakistan and the residents to ensure continue water supply to the residents of District Central. It is to be noted that Rehan Hashmi has been doing great efforts to find the causes of shortage of water shortage in District Central. He had visited the Gharo Pumping Stations as well as other pumping points to locate the causes and reasons for less supply of water. However, MD Karachi Water Board promised to do his best to find the causes and restore regular water supply to the District Central as soon as possible. Superintending Engineer KWSB ( Distt. Central) Muhammad Ali, Executive Engineers Saleem Ahmed and Rehan Ahmed Chairman UC 3 Fazil Khan zada, Uc Penal members and a large number of residents were present in the meeting.
