Economic package aimed at promoting investment, exports: Finance Ministry

Islamabad, Jan. 24 (TNS): Spokesperson of Ministry of Finance Khaqqan Najeeb has said the economic package announced by the government yesterday is aimed at promoting investment and exports.

Talking to PTV on Thursday, he said the incentives and tax relief measures announced in the package will help strengthen industrialization in the country.

He said customs and regulatory duties have been cut on import of raw material in order to bring down the cost of doing business in the country.

The spokesperson said targeted measures have been taken to ensure that the farmers have access to more credit on low interest rate. He was confident investment in the agriculture sector will increase as a result of these measures.

The spokesperson said subsidy is being given on fertilizers and a Gas Infrastructure Development Cess bill is being introduced which will help further reduce the prices of fertilizers.
