RAWALPINDI, Feb. 22 (TNS): The Pakistan Army on Friday said that the country does not wish for war, but is prepared in the eventuality India takes any aggressive military measures in the aftermath of the suicide attack in Pulwama district of occupied Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor also said that India was quick to pin responsibility of the Pulwama attack on Pakistan without due investigation and New Delhi has yet not accepted the reality of Partition.
“Right after the attack, India started accusing without thinking and without any evidence. Pakistan has, this time, taken out some time to respond.”
“India always conspired against Pakistan through terrorism. It also waged war on Pakistan in 1965,” said the DG ISPR.

“Pakistan has attained peace today after several sacrifices and hardships and today, we are moving towards a better future.”
“Once you cross the LoC, there are multiple layers of Indian defences. The attack in Kashmir happened miles away from the border. How is it possible that someone could cross it without their knowledge,” said the military spokesperson while elaborating on the recent attack in Pulwama.
“India should question its own security forces which have been sitting there for the past 70 years. It is a failure of their intelligence.”
“After Pulwama attack, Pakistan studied and evaluated the situation and then responded. The proposals given to the Indian government have never been offered in the past to any Indian government. This is new Pakistan,” said DG ISPR.
Referring to the warmongering and jingoism in India following the attack, Maj Gen Ghafoor said that India is blaming Pakistan for trying to initiate war but “that is India’s doing, not ours”. “We are only trying to protect our country which is our right.”
“We do not wish to go into war and please be reassured if you initiate aggression, the army shall not be surprised by you. We shall surprise you,” warned the DG ISPR.
“I hope you get this message and don’t mess with Pakistan.”
“Our prime minister has given his response to India but the military’s response will be different,” maintained the DG ISPR.
DG ISPR, “Countries do not and cannot develop individually. If the region wants to develop we cannot go into war.”
Lauding the media coverage of Pulwama attack in Pakistan, ISPR spokesperson said journalists in the country have covered the incident very responsibly unlike the Indian media.
“The whole of Indian media is occupied in war journalism while Pakistani media is trying its best in doing peace journalism. I applaud Pakistani media for it.”
“We hope India will accept our offer of peace through dialogue. Pakistan army shall defend any inch of our beloved land until our last breath.”

DG ISPR said the former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt-Gen (retd) Asad Durrani’s who has co-authored a book, ‘The Spy Chronicles, with Amarjit Sindh Dulat, former chief of Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), has been found guilty of violating the military code of conduct.
“An inquiry against him is underway. Durrani has been found guilty of violating the military code of conduct. He is no more entitled to pension and facilities and his name has been placed on the Exit Control List (ECL).
With regards to the reports that two military officers are also under military custody, DG ISPR said, “Two senior military officials are under arrest for espionage. They are not part of a network and the army chief has ordered their court-martial.”
