Present Govt introduced economic diplomacy to attract foreign investment; NA informed

Islamabad, May 03 (TNS): National Assembly was informed today that the present government has introduced economic diplomacy to attract foreign investment and promote trade relations with other countries.

Parliamentary Secretary on Foreign Affairs Andleeb Abbas told the House during question hour that the commercial attaché have been given the message that their responsibilities are to earn revenue for the country.

Andleeb Abbass said that our mission in Saudi Arabia is actively engaged with Saudi authorities for the release of 2107 Pakistani prisoners as announced during the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to Pakistan.

She said both the countries are currently compiling the list of prisoners. She said that these prisoners also include those involved in serious crimes.

Shandana Gulzar Khan said the government is bringing a new trade policy in which due focus will be given to the value addition of products.

Responding to a calling attention notice, moved by Shahida Akhter Ali, Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood said that all the federal government schools will be upgraded and transformed into modern schools to provide better education facilities to the students.

Responding to another calling attention notice moved by Sabir Hussain Kaim Khani, Minister for National Food Security Mehboob Sultan said that the wheat crop is stored in modern silos to protect the crop from any damage.

The House will now meet again on Monday at three pm.
