Poverty alleviation basic agenda of PTI government: FM

Islamabad, May 11 (TNS): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says poverty alleviation is the basic agenda of PTI government which can be achieved through progress in agricultural sector.

Speaking at an Iftar dinner in honour of Farmers Association of Pakistan in Islamabad, he said Chinese vice-president would pay a three day visit to Pakistan on 26th of this month during which agreements related to agriculture would be finalized.

The Foreign Minister said Pakistan wants to enhance private partnerships with China.

He said members of Farmers Association of Pakistan recently paid an informative visit to China to chalk out ways for mutually enhancing bilateral trade between the two countries.

He said Pakistan has a lot of potential in the field of fisheries and it can help China in this field.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan wants to have an economic diplomacy with other countries and ministries of finance, commerce, industry and foreign affairs should work together in this regard.
