On direction of CM Punjab, crackdown against price mafia underway across 9 Division

Lahore, May 17 (TNS): On direction of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar indiscriminate rackdown has been launched against the elements responsible for artificial price hike in nine Divisions across the province. During price control drive in 9 Divisions of Punjab, magistrates have conducted thousands raids, hundreds traders booked and arrested for violating rules while fines worth millions of rupees also imposed.

In Sargodha Division 97 magistrates have conducted 3453 raids across the division while FIR registered against 15 traders and 12 were arrested for selling products on higher prices. Fines worth Rs 1,112,100 also imposed for violating the rules.

In Rawalpindi Division 117 magistrates have conducted 4779 raids across the division while FIR registered against 66 traders and 56 were arrested for selling products on higher prices. Fines worth Rs 3,099,600 also imposed for violating the rules.

In Gujranwala Division 193 magistrates have conducted 7059 raids across the division while FIR registered against 41 traders and 32 were arrested for selling products on higher prices. Fines worth Rs 3,352,700 also imposed for violating the rules.

In Lahore Division 207 magistrates have conducted 10660 raids across the division while FIR registered against 281 traders and 245 were arrested for selling products on higher prices. Fines worth
Rs 2,162,700 also imposed for violating the rules.

In Faisalabad Division 118 magistrates have conducted 4178 raids across the division while FIR registered against 60 traders and 69 were arrested for selling products on higher prices. Fines worth Rs 2,246,000 also imposed for violating the rules.

In Sahiwal Division 84 magistrates have conducted 2349 raids across the division while FIR registered against 13 traders and 9 were arrested for selling products on higher prices. Fines worth
Rs 1,533,100 also imposed for violating the rules.

In Dera Ghazi Khan Division 82 magistrates have conducted 2985 raids across the division while FIR registered against 61 traders and 17 were arrested for selling products on higher prices. Fines worth Rs 616,000 also imposed for violating the rules.

In Multan Division 118 magistrates have conducted 6162 raids across the division while FIR registered against 59 traders and 48 were arrested for selling products on higher prices. Fines worth
Rs 2,191,400 also imposed for violating the rules.

In Bahawalpur Division 108 magistrates have conducted 4791 raids across the division while FIR registered against 15 traders and 13 were arrested for selling products on higher prices. Fines worth Rs 2,198,000 also imposed for violating the rules.

Meanwhile the Chief Minister in his tweet said that majority of people of the country possess confidence in the leadership of prime minister Imran Khan.
