Birmingham, July 14 (TNS): UK court has sentenced a gang – involved in smuggling of drugs worth multi million Pounds from Pakistan – in prison for more than 130 years, British media reported on Friday.
A Birmingham drugs gang who conspired to smuggle up to into the UK from Pakistan have been jailed for more than 130 years, British media reported on Friday.
The culprits had hid £19 million of heroin inside industrial machinery imported from Pakistan’s city of Lahore, however, UK authorities arrested them following an investigation.
Birmingham Crown Court convicted eight accused and jailed for a total of 138 and a half years after found guilty in conspiracy to import drugs into the country.
Leaders of the gang Ameran Zeb Khan, Mohammed Ali, and Sajid Hussain, were sentenced to 22 years each.
The import was made by using of fake companies, bogus documents, unregistered cellular numbers and fabricated trips to Pakistan.
