KPDWP approves over Rs12b for 29 development projects

Peshawar, May 23 (TNS): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Development Working Party (KPDWP) approved more than twelve billion rupees for twenty-nine projects in its meeting held in Peshawar.

The projects are related to health, communication, local government, forestry, public health engineering, dams, population welfare and rescue sectors.

Meanwhile, work on the construction of eighty-one-kilometer-long Swat Motorway is near completion.

In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan’s Peshawar correspondent, Falak Niaz, Project Director of the Motorway Engineer Barkatullah said it will be opened for light traffic before Eid ul-Fitr.

He said the motorway will be completed at a cost of forty-one billion rupees under public-private partnership.

Swat Motorway will boost tourism, trade and economic activities in Mardan and Malakand divisions.
