The Executive Board meeting of National Accountability Bureau (NAB-EBM) chaired by Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal held here at Headquarters

Islamabad, May 23 (TNS): The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman NAB, Prosecutor General Accountability, Director General Operations, Director General NAB, Rawalpindi and other senior officers. It was a year long set policy of NAB to provide details of EBM decisions to people, which not aimed at hurting anyone. The inquiries have been initiated on the basis of alleged allegations which are not final. NAB only proceeds further after knowing both sides of the picture.

The EBM accorded approval for filing of four corruption references against Former Director General Press Information Department Chaudhry Rasheed Ahmed and others on the allegations of trying to withdraw Rs28.5 million from national exchequer in collaboration with advertising agency by misuse of authority which was foiled by PARC. EBM also approved filing of another corruption reference against Naeemuddin Khan , former President Bank of  the Punjab and others. They have been accused of misuse of authority in and purchase of shares of Bank of Punjab through inside trading, which inflicted Rs 10.385 million losses to the national kitty. The EBM accorded approval of filing of corruption reference against
Ghulab Khan, secretary Karachi Port Trust Officers Cooperative Housing Society and others for alleged allotment of state land illegally against the rules to favourites which inflicted Rs 110 million losses to national exchequer, The  EMB accorded approval of filing of another corruption reference against Manzoor Qadir, former Director General Sindh Building Control Authority (SCBA) Karachi and others on accusation of allotting state land in Nehre Khayam Karachi to Messers Friend Associates illegall.
Their this act inflicted Rs 3 billion losses to national exchequer. The EBM also approved filing of three inquiries against Syed Talat Mehmood, former Chief Operating Officer, Agricultural Development Bank Limited (ZTBL) and others. Nasir Iqbal, member National Assembly and Imdadullah Bosal, former Secretary to Chief Minister Punjab and Messers Zardari Group Private Limited.

The EBM approved closing inquiry against management/officers  of Punjab Renewable Energy Company Limited and others and officers of Quaid e Azam Wonder Power Company Limited and others owing to lack of of incriminating evidence at this moment. Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal has said that concluding Mega corruption cases is the top most priority of NAB which is already pursuing ‘Accountability for All’. All available resources were being utilized to eliminate corruption and recover looted amount of the people. Corruption was rootcause of all ills being confronted by the country. Eliminating corruption was collective responsibility of all Pakistanis. Chairman NAB directed NAB’s Director Generals leave no stone unturned to take the cases of corrupt, proclaimed offenders to logical conclusion. NAB thinks elimination of corruption as its national responsibility and faith of NAB was Corruption free Pakistan.
