Lahore, Jun 04 (TNS): The genuine priorities of the people were badly ignored due to the wrong policies of the past rulers and people of the province remained deprived of their basic amenities of life. In a statement issued here today, Usman Buzdar said that PTI government is rectifying the past mistakes adding that it would require time. We don’t have any other agenda and we are selflessly serving the people. We have burnt the midnight oil for public service, he added and further said that politics of public interest has never been done because only national interest is dear to us.

Implementation on the announcement of remission in prisoners’ sentences:
51 prisoners have been released from different jails in compliance with the announcement of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar about granting special remission of two months in the sentences of prisoners confined in various jails of the province. The Chief Minister had announced 60 days remission under CrPC in the sentences of prisoners and sentences of 4516 prisoners have been commuted as a result. According to details, two months remission in the sentences of 292 prisoners of Central Jail Lahore, 177 prisoners of Central Jail Gujranwala, 54 prisoners of District Jail Kasur, 103 prisoners of District Jail Lahore, 121 prisoners of District Jail Sheikhupura. 169 prisoners of District Jail Sialkot and 40 prisoners of District Jail Narowal has been made. Similarly, two months remissions have been made in the sentences of 112 prisoners of Central Jail Sahiwal, 62 prisoners of High- Security Prison Sahiwal, 56 prisoners of District Jail Okara, 45 prisoners of District Jail Pakpattan, 98 prisoners of District Jail Vehari and 31 prisoners of District Jail Khanewal. Meanwhile, sentences of 41 prisoners of Central Jail Rawalpindi, 229 prisoners of District Jail Attock, 133 prisoners of District Jail Gujrat, 138 prisoners of District Jail Jhelum, 21 prisoners of District Jail Mandi Bahuddin and 18 prisoners of Sub-Jail Chakwal have also been reduced. The sentences of 121 prisoners of Central Jail Faisalabad, 92 prisoners of District Jail Faisalabad, 148 prisoners of District Jail Jhang, 81 prisoners of District Jail Toba Tek Singh have been reduced as well. 162 prisoners of Central Jail Mianwali, 196 prisoners of District Jail Bhakkar, 55 prisoners of District Jail Sargodha, 119 prisoners of District Jail Shahpur and 101 prisoners of District Jail Hafizabad will also avail this facility. Decrease in the sentences of 160 prisoners of Central Jail Multan, 48 prisoners of Central Jail DG Khan, 26 prisoners of District Jail Multan, 39 prisoners of District Jail Muzaffargarh, 30 prisoners of District Jail Rajanpur, 32 prisoners of District Jail Layyah, 16 prisoners of Women Jail Multan and 6 prisoners of Sub-Jail Shujaabad has been made. A decrease in the sentences of 125 prisoners of Central Jail Bahawalpur, 38 prisoners of District Jail Rahim Yar Khan, 80 prisoners of District Jail Bahawalnagar and one prisoner of Borstal Institution and Juvenile Jail Bahawalpur has been made as well.

STOPPAGE OF ONE-WHEELING:
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar directed to take effective steps for stopping one-wheeling on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr and ordered to take indiscriminate crackdown against those involved in one-wheeling. The Chief Minister said that permission cannot be accorded for putting lives at risk due to one-wheeling. Action will be taken against the concerned police officer in case of a complaint arising against one-wheeling and those involved in one-wheeling will be punished according to law.

The Chief Minister directed that special teams should be constituted to pre-empt one-wheeling and action should be initiated against the under-age drivers.

SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS TO ENSURE SMOOTH FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN TOURISTS CITIES, ESPECIALLY MURREE:
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed to undertake effective steps to ensure smooth flow of traffic in different tourist cities of Punjab, especially Murree on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr. Chief Minister directed that effective measures should be taken to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the Islamabad-Murree route during Eid-ul-Fitr. Citizens going to Murree should not face any difficulty during Eid vacations, he said. A proper system should be organized to guide the citizens and special arrangements should be undertaken to ensure smooth flow of traffic in and around Murree and other historical and tourist resorts during Eid-ul-Fitr. Traffic police should devise a special traffic plan to ensure smooth flow of traffic in all the cities of the province and senior police officers should personally supervise traffic arrangements, he added. The Chief Minister further directed that excellent steps should be undertaken to ensure effective traffic management in Lahore, Murree and other big cities and comprehensive planning should be done to ensure smooth flow of traffic. 

CONDOLENCE EXPRESSED ON THE DEATH OF DR. WASEEM AKHTAR:
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of the leader of Jamat-e-Islami Dr. Waseem Akhtar. The Chief Minister prayed that may Allah Almighty grant the departed soul an eternal place in heaven and give courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this loss with equanimity. Chief Minister also paid tributes to the departed soul and remarked that late Dr. Waseem Akhtar was a patriotic Pakistani and his services will be remembered for an indefinite period of time.

CONDOLENCE OVER THE DEATH OF THE MOTHER OF AMER KHAQWANI:
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of the mother of Amer Khaqwani, Magazine Editor of Daily 92 News. Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt condolence with the bereaved family and prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
