Lahore, Jun 19 (TNS): Members of the Punjab assembly belonging to the Bahawalpur Division called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office here on Tuesday and discussed various matters including public welfare schemes and development of the Bahawalpur Division. They also congratulated the Chief Minister for presenting a public-friendly budget despite difficult economic circumstances adding that foundation of the composite development has been laid. Meanwhile, 35 percent of the development budget has been allocated for southern Punjab. All the backward areas, including southern Punjab, will be included in the development process; they added and appreciated the resumption of meetings with the assembly members. The Chief Minister announced to provide funds for the development schemes of assembly members on priority basis adding that backward areas were willingly left behind in the development journey during the past tenure but the development of far-flung areas has been especially focused by the PTI government. Special funds have been allocated for the repair and construction of rural roads under Naya Pakistan Manzalain Aasan program. Carpeted roads will be constructed on the identification of assembly members in Bahawalpur Division under this program, he added. He said that the participation of concerned MPAs should be ensured in open-courts held in districts and tehsils. The posting of vice chancellors for Islamia University and Veterinary University in Bahawalpur is being made soon, he added. No let up will be allowed in the respect of assembly members and their problems will be personally solved. The Chief Minister disclosed that provision of solar panels to the tribal areas of Cholistan, Thal, DG Khan and Rajanpur is being reviewed for the provision of electricity. He also directed to ease the provision of sugar-cess funds adding that past rulers never allocated any amount for the repair and maintenance of roads but the incumbent government has allocated huge funds for this purpose. He said that scope of Arazi Centers under the land record management information system will be expanded to all the districts in phases and 115 new Arazi Centers will be established in different areas of the province by January next year. He informed that 26 mobile Arazi Centers are also being provided to far-flung areas. Similarly, the Punjab government is going to recruit two thousand specialist doctors to overcome their shortage in far-flung hospitals. The Chief Minister took immediate notice of assembly members’ complaints about poor construction of sewerage system in Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan during the previous tenure and directed to get the matter investigated through the CMIT. Legal action will be initiated against the responsible persons in the light of inquiry report, he added and made it clear that hard-earned money of the people will not be allowed to be looted and no compromise will be made on the quality of work in public welfare schemes. He said that assembly members should also ensure strict monitoring of development schemes and ensure correct utilization of national resources. The Chief Minister directed to immediately complete the constitution of the board of governors of Shaikh Zayed Hospital Rahim Yar Khan and also directed to immediately solve the complaints relating to irrigation department in Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan. An effective campaign should be launched to curb the incidents of water theft, he added. The Chief Minister directed to start master degree classes for the students of Minchanabad city and added that trauma center will be set up in THQ hospital Liaqatpur. Similarly, construction of Head Sulemanki to Minchanabad road and Bahawalnagar to Pakpattan road will also be reviewed by the government. Provincial Ministers Samiullah Ch., Hashim Jawan Bakhat, Shaukat Lalika, PTI and PML-Q assembly members, Chief Whip Syed Abbas Ali Shah, Chief Secretary, ACS, IG Police, SMBR, provincial secretaries, Divisional Commissioner, DC and RPO of Bahawalpur and DCs and DPOs of Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalnagar were also present on the occasion.

CM takes notice of firing in DHQ Hospital Nankana Sahib: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has taken notice of firing incident in DHQ hospital Nankana Sahib and sought a report from the IG Police. He has directed to early arrest the criminals adding that legal action be initiated against them. He has also condoled loss of lives due to the firing.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar presided over a meeting at his office on Tuesday to review progress made on the program aimed at achieving targets of durable development. Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Naeem-ul-Haq also attended the meeting. It was decided to implement an effective monitoring mechanism for the development projects to achieve the development targets. The Chief Minister said that rules and regulations should be strictly followed in completion of development schemes. The development schemes should be monitored at every phase and reports be submitted regularly, he added. He said that the tendering process should be totally transparent adding that concerned administration will be responsible if corruption is proved in the development schemes in the district. He said that offices of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister should be kept in the loop about the development projects through the dashboard at every phase. He said that the problems of the assembly members will be solved one by one. Naeem-ul-Haq said that Punjab government is pursuing the mission of public service in accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and added that Prime Minister Imran Khan is satisfied with the performance of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. It is the clear-cut instruction of Prime Minister Imran Khan that every job should be done purely on merit, he added. Chairman P&D gave a briefing about the program and shared details.
