DG Radio Pakistan emphasizes need for women’s empowerment

Rawalpindi, Dec. 03 (TNS): Director General Radio Pakistan Samina Waqar says women should raise themselves against all types of violence and play their proactive role in making a healthy society.

She expressed these views while addressing a seminar titled “Elimination of Violence Against Women” organized by Rawalpindi Women University, in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.

Samina Waqar said women are the integral part of society that not only makes a good society but, also prove to be a milestone in achieving goals of the country’s progress and prosperity.

The Director General Radio Pakistan said we should also stand against the brutalities being perpetrated by the Indian forces on the women in Occupied Kashmir.

She said women of the held valley are being subjugated to varied violence.

She emphasized the need for fighting against violence and poverty and empowering the women to excel in every field of life.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Rawalpindi Women University Dr. Aalia Sohail Khan said women must take the responsibility with confidence, courage and supported by academic excellence to raise their voices against violence.
