Islamabad: July 17, 2020 (TNS): National Price Monitoring Committee has asked the provincial governments to ensure smooth supply of essential food items at affordable prices and remove price disparity.
The committee, which met in Islamabad today (Friday) with Additional Finance Secretary in the chair, discussed the price trend of essential food items.
The chair directed the Competition Commission of Pakistan to play a proactive role to check cartelization and other anti-market practices.
The meeting was told that the government in consultation with all stakeholders is taking proactive measures to control the general price level of daily use items at the federal, provincial and district levels.
