Addressing a special ceremony organized by Radio Pakistan in connection with Christmas and New Year celebrations in Islamabad on Thursday, he said all the minorities enjoy equal rights in Pakistan.
The Minister said the basic teaching of every religion is promotion of interfaith harmony, respect and love among the people.
Shibli Faraz appreciated Director General Radio Pakistan Ambreen Jan on organizing the colorful event to celebrate Christmas.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General Radio Pakistan Ambreen Jan said following the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad Ṣallā Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam Khatam-un-Nabiyyeen and vision of Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Radio Pakistan always organizes such events to encourage minorities and promoting their equal rights in the society.
The songs and a tableau presented on the occasion enthralled the audience.
Special prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of the country. A Christmas cake was also cut by the Minister for Information and Broadcasting accompanied by Additional Secretary Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Shahera Shahid, DG Radio Pakistan Ambreen Jan and senior officers of Radio Pakistan and Christian community representatives.
The event was attended by the senior officers and staff of Radio Pakistan and representatives of Christian community. Covid-19 SOPs were strictly observed by all the participants keeping in view the second wave of the pandemic.
