Islamabad: Oct 29, 2021 (TNS): Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the authorities concerned to take all necessary measures to make PWD an effective organisation for the facilitation of employees of the Federal Government.
Chairing a meeting to take stock of the issues pertaining to Pakistan Public Works Department in Islamabad today [Friday], the Prime Minister said the Government is focused on providing well-maintained and best quality housing units to the public sector employees. He said PWD will be transformed into a smart and effective organisation for this purpose.
The Prime Minister further directed to explore all possible innovative measures to ensure the provision of best quality accommodation units for Federal Governments employees.
The Prime Minister directed the authorities concerned to ensure proper upkeep of all maintainable housing units of the Federal Government.

He also directed to complete all codal formalities at the earliest to construct new vertical housing units by demolishing all those that are too dilapidated to be renovated into decent living places.
Earlier, the Prime Minister was briefed on the working of PWD and major issues hampering its efficient disposal of assigned business.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Housing Ch Tariq Bashir Cheema, Planning Minister Asad Umar, Advisor on Finance Shaukat Fayyaz Tarin, Parliamentary Secretary Housing Mrs Tashfeen Safdar, Chairman Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority retired Lt.General Anwar Ali Haider and senior officers concerned.
