Islamabad: Nov 03, 2021 (TNS): Reform Support Unit, School Education and literacy department hosted an Inauguration ceremony of Girls Stipend distribution ceremony 2020-21 at Marriot Hotel Karachi dated 3rd November 2021. The ceremony was chaired by Secretary SELD Ghulam Akbar laghari & CPM RSU, Capt R. Abdul Sattar Isan. Special Sec SELD Muhmmad Khan Ranjah, Faisal Ahmed Uqeli secretary P&D & All the heads of SELD wings and UNICEF participated in the ceremony.
Total 3,574,595 Girls Students are beneficiaries of the last 16 Girls Stipend Activities. The Girls Stipend program will incentivize girl’s education by increasing enrollment and reducing the dropout rate. Around 200,000 Girls students of class 6th, 9th&10th will get stipend which has been increased now from 1000 to RS.3500/.
RSU-SELD in partnership with Habib Bank ltd has focused on transparency and convenience. Parents shall receive SMS and shall withdraw amount after biometric verification. A robust compliant redressal mechanism has been installed at RSU, LSU and HBL as well.
