Pakistan calls for continued engagement of Int’l community in Afghanistan

Islamabad: Nov 12, 2021 (TNS): Pakistan has once again called for continued constructive engagement of the international community in Afghanistan to avert humanitarian crisis.

In his weekly media briefing on Friday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar said Pakistan is working closely with the regional countries as well as members of the international community for achieving lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan.

He said we have been calling on the international community to stay engaged with all relevant parties and to respond to the current situation in a careful and a calibrated manner.

The Spokesperson said during talks with Afghan delegation, we expressed our commitment to peace, stability and progress in Afghanistan.

He said we also discussed strengthening of bilateral and transit trade regime and facilitating movement of people by land and air.

He said Pakistan offered technical assistance in health and education.

The Spokesperson commended the outstanding performance of Pakistan Cricket team at the T20 World Cup.

He said while being a bit unlucky in the semifinal, on whole, our young team earned acclaim and won the hearts of Pakistanis and cricket lovers around the world for their humility, skill and sportsman spirit.

He also congratulated the Australian team over their win in semi-final.
