President calls upon followers of all religions to shun differences & get united for humanity

Islamabad: Nov 24, 2021 (TNS): President Arif Alvi has stressed that there should be no human exploitation on the basis of religion, race and colour.

Addressing an international Interfaith Peace Conference in Islamabad today (Wednesday), he regretted that the history of Muslims is being distorted in India. Exploitative laws are also being introduced by the Indian government in order to alienate the Muslims.

The President said the opening of Kartarpur corridor on the part of Pakistan was an effort for peace and promote interfaith harmony.

Arif Alvi said the process of wars and exploitative world order should come to an end. He said the world should come together to collectively deal with the issue of environment and climate change.

Referring to the situation in Afghanistan, he said the world should provide an opportunity to the country to take forward economy.

In his remarks on the occasion, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi emphasized the need for inter- civilizational dialogue and interfaith harmony to save billions of people from conflict, poverty, disease and hunger. He said Pakistan has a rich tradition of tolerance, understanding and respect for cultural values of minorities.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan’s vision and efforts stand in stark contrast with the policies and actions of the BJP government which is driven by racism and intolerance.

He said the plight of minorities in general, and Kashmiris in particular flies in the face of India’s claims of being a secular and democratic country.

He said the world must make the Indian government realize that sacrificing Muslims and other minorities at the altar of populism poses a grave threat to humanist ideals as well as regional peace and security.

Addressing the Conference, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said Islam spread in this part of the world through the teachings of Sufi Saints.

The Minister said Islam preaches peace and it is for the religious scholars to promote the true teachings of the religion.

Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said that Rehmatul-lil-Aalameen Authority has also been established to disseminate lessons from the life and teachings of Hazrat Muhammad Rasool Allah Khatim un Nabiyeen Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Ala Alayhee Wa Ashabehi Wassalam.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has also forcefully spoken on the issue of Islamophobia.
