Karachi, July 26 (TNS): After Governor Sindh Zubair Asad refusal to approve the bill, Sindh Assembly on Wednesday passed the Accountability Bill 2017 with the majority.
The Governor, this month, returned the bill with objections to repeal the applicability of the National Accountability Ordinance.
During Wednesday session, the opposition parties rejected the Bill and walked out of the House.
The treasury benched approved the Bill – which will replace NAB laws – in the absence of opposition parties.
Addressing on occasion, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah said that NAB and its laws are not ‘holy’ as described.
Shah added that that the Provincial Assembly has power to amend the laws.
