Aziz hit hard at US for declaring freedom movement in IOK as ‘terrorism’

Islamabad, July 3 (TNS): Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said Syed Salahuddin being designated a terrorist by the US was an attempt by the American administration to appease India.

Talking to a delegation of journalists in Islamabad on Monday, the Advisor said Pakistan was not bound to follow US decision as it was not a United Nations (UN) declaration.

Aziz said that India offering its services to the US to pressurise China is evidence of its isolation in the region.

He added that Pakistan wants resolution of Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of Kashmiris and in line with the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Aziz said that India has been trying to downplay the Kashmir issue for a very long time, but continuing agitation at the local level had completely changed the Indian narrative.

He said that Pakistan will continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris in their just struggle for right to self- determination.

Sartaj Aziz said that freedom struggle in Kashmir is purely indigenous and India has failed to suppress it through use of brute force.

He said no dialogue is possible with India without inclusion of the Kashmir issue in the agenda.

Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan is highlighting gross human rights violation by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir at the international fora.
