Islamabad July 6 (TNS): Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Thursday submitted details of the money trail sent by his from wife Jemima Khan that led to the purchase of his Bani Gala property.
Khan submitted the money trial chart to the Supreme Court, mentioning that he himself arranged the upfront money for the purchase of Bani Gala land. Later, Rs484 million was sent by ex-wife Jemima Khan in 10 transactions from England.
The amount was sent in dollars and later converted to rupees, Khan said.
The PTI chief said that there no tax is applicable in Pakistan on the sum sent from abroad and he did not need to show it.
Earlier, Khan clarified in one of his tweets stating, “I bought London flat from taxed legit (legitimate) cricket earnings in 1983; sold it in 2003 & brought funds back thru (through) legit (legitimate) banking channels.”
PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi has petitioned seeking the disqualification of Imran Khan for not disclosing his assets and offshore companies in his tax returns and other declarations submitted to the election commission.
