Bid to smuggle heroin-filled 70 capsules to Jeddah foiled, accused held


ISLAMABAD, June 02 (TNS): The Airport Security Force (ASF) foiled a bid to smuggle heroin filled capsules abroad and arrested a drug peddler at Islamabad Airport on Thursday.

The ASF sources said that during search of baggage of a passenger leaving from Jeddah through a private airline flight at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad, 70 heroin filled capsules were recovered.

The ASF confiscated the recovered drug worth hundreds of thousand rupees in international market and arrested the drugs smuggler, Irshad hailing from Sargodha district.

The recovered heroin and the accused were later handed over to Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for further investigation.
