Daesh killed Chinese couple abducted in Quetta

London, June 08 (TNS): Terror outfit Islamic State (Daesh) has claimed to kill two Chinese citizens it kidnapped in southwest Pakistan last month, Reuters quoting the militant group’s Amaq news agency said on Thursday.

Unidentified armed men on May 24 abducted a Chinese couple from Quetta’s Jinnah Town at gunpoint and wounded a citizen on resistance, while another Chinese woman escaped from the abductors’ clutches.

The abductions happened around midday in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, which is at the heart of the $50 billion China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

“Islamic State fighters kill two Chinese people they had been holding in Baluchistan province, southwest Pakistan,” Amaq said.
