Islamabad June 05 (TNS): Pir Hassaan Haseebur Rehman, the son of Pir Naqib-ur-Rahman, the custodian of Eidgah Sharif in Rawalpindi, was given an “impressive reception” by his father and his followers upon his arrival at the shrine soon after he was released from jail.
Pir Hassaan Haseebur Rehman was put behind bars, after his guards misbehaved and harassed Supreme Court Judge Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and his family on Lahore-Islamabad a few days back.
Pir Haseebur Rehman’s release comes after his father got an ‘apology statement’ published in the press, seeking pardon from Supreme Court Judge Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and his family, who was going from Lahore to Islamabad when Pir Haseeb and his security guards intercepted their vehicle, misbehaved with family and damaged their car.
Later the judge got an FIR registered against Pir Haseeb at Kaleki Mandi Police Station of Hafizabad district and police arrested Pir Haseeb and sent him behind bars.
Pir Naqib-ur-Rahman said in his ‘clemency statement’ that “he was embarrassed and ashamed of what was meted out to Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and his family, and an FIR of the episode has been registered at Kaleki Mandi Police Station of Hafizabad and my son (Pir Haseeb) is languishing behind the bar. I, on my behalf, and on behalf my son, beg the judge and his family for clemency.”
Pir Naqib-ur-Rahman further said that “as recompense/penalty, I have deposited Rs0.5 million each at Eidhi Relief Centre and Faizul Islam Yateem Khana, Rawalpindi. I also seek forgiveness of the lawyers of the Rawalpindi Division over the episode”.
