Federal Cabinet approves array of authorizations

Islamabad, Oct 10 (TNS): The Federal Cabinet has approved different agreements and conventions made between Pakistan and other countries.

The meeting of Cabinet was held in Islamabad on Tuesday with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the chair.

According to details, the Cabinet approved signing of negotiated draft visa abolition agreement between Pakistan and Italy for the holders of diplomatic passport.

It also granted approval to amend the existing conventions with Sri Lanka, Nepal, France, Portugal, Tunisia and Morocco for avoiding double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income for updation of article of exchange of information.

The Cabinet approved the signing of MoU on Scientific and Technical Cooperation in the field of Agriculture Research between Pakistan Agriculture Research Council and Agriculture Academy of Bulgharia.

Approval was also accorded to the appointment of Member (Administration) CDA, Establishment Division during the meeting.

Granted approval to Amend the Existing Convention between Pakistan and Tunisia for the Double  Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income for Updation of Article of Exchange of Information.

The cabinet also granted approval to Amend the Existing Convention between Pakistan and Morocco for the Double and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income for Updation of Article of Exchange of Information.

Approval to Amend the Existing Convention between Pakistan and Portuguese for the Double and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income for Updation of Article of Exchange of Information were also granted during the meeting.

Change in nomenclature of Ministry of Port & Shipping to Ministry of Maritime Affairs was also approved.
