G-B govt decides to handover primary education to women teachers


GILGIT June 06 (TNS): Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman said on Tuesday that in order to bring more improvement in the basic education system, the government has decided to introduce ECD system under which the education system up to primary level will be handed over women teachers.

Talking to a high level delegation of British Council, the chief minister said that work in this regard was underway as these goal-oriented measures would produce very positive results in the overall education system in the ‘province’.

“Measures are also underway for the promotion of technical education for which a syllabus was being prepared,” the chief minister told the delegation.

“Two model schools in every district are being set up at an estimated cost of Rs30 million while free books are being provided to the students from Class-I to Class- X that has increased enrollment ratio in the region.
