Gilgit-Rawalpindi portion of KKH opened for one-way traffic

GB, Jan. 24 (TNS): Gilgit-Rawalpindi portion of Karakorum Highway has been opened for one-way traffic.

Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has removed the debris of landslides from the highway in Kohistan and restored traffic.

Meanwhile, two PIA flights between Islamabad and Gilgit were operated today, after five day suspension due to bad weather.

Our Gilgit correspondent reports that Gilgit Baltistan is in the grip of severe cold which has affected normal life in upper parts.

Skardu remained the coldest place today with minus twelve degree centigrade temperature.

The minimum temperature in Gupis, Astore and Bagrote dropped to minus eight degree centigrade, Hunza minus two while Gilgit and Chilas to zero degree centigrade.
