Hassan Nawaz appears before JIT

Islamabad June 08 (TNS): Hassan Nawaz, the younger son of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, on Thursday appeared before the Joint Investigation Team— formed by the Supreme Court to probe the money trail and foreign property of the Sharif family— to record his statement for the second time.

Hassan Nawaz reached the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA), where the JIT is headquartered, amidst tight security.

Taking to reporters outside the FJA, Prime Minister’s Adviser Asif Kirmani raised the question how the photo of Hussain Nawaz was leaked and claimed that according to his information, the picture was taken in the interrogation room and not the waiting room. He demanded that Supreme Court judges order an inquiry as to who leaked the picture and for what purpose.

He also questioned who called the ambulance to the FJA while Hussain Nawaz was inside the building to testify before the JIT. He said that with the arrival of the ambulance, rumour mills went into overdrive claiming that Hussain Nawaz’s blood and sugar level dropped.

CADD Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that they have serious concern against some members of the JIT and the apex court must address the concerns. He said that they have brought their reservation to the notice of the Supreme Court.

Kirmani said that they respect the Supreme Court and never want clash of institutions. He said that some forces want clash of institutions but the PML-N will not let it happen.
