Human Rights Watch for sanctions, arms embargo against Myanmar over Rohingya crisis

ISLAMABAD Sept 18 (TNS): Human Rights Watch group has called for targeted sanctions and arms embargo against the Myanmar military in response to its offensive launched against Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine State.

The Human Rights Watch group said Myanmar’s security forces are disregarding condemnation by world leaders and the time has come to impose tougher measures against them.

The latest offensive of Myanmar forces has compelled 410,000 Rohingya Muslims to flee Bangladesh to escape the ethnic cleansing.
