ISLAMABAD Aug 22 (TNS): Member of National Assembly (MNA) Ayesha Gulalai has held likening her falling out with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief to the case of Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton shameful.
Gulalai has said that Imran Niazi is not Bill Clinton that her case is likened with that of Monica Lewinsky. PTI chief is not a president and he cannot become one, she claimed.
The disgruntled PTI member said that Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) would regret not having put forth names for ethics committee that is to probe her case.
She said that 62 percent of Pakistan’s population is made by women and they are not given their due rights by political parties. She said that she wants to work for women’s standing in the society and help give the society more persons like late Benazir Bhutto.
She further criticized Imran Khan by recalling that his party first welcomed a dedicated probe committee and then did an about-face on the stance.
Jahangir Tareen and Shah Mehmood Qureshi address the women in the rallies by referring to them as their daughters whereas Imran Khan chants ‘my women’, she complained.
While talking about General Elections 2018, Gulalai lauded efforts of committee concerned for putting together electoral reforms bill 2017. She also said that expatriates should be provided with biometric systems to vote for their candidates from abroad.
The parliamentarian branded recent rallies and addresses of Dr Tahirul Qadri, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief, ‘politics over bodies’.
She further said that either a parliamentary committee should be formed to look into her allegations and Imran Khan’s denial or the parliament should vote for establishment of one.
Lewinsky is a telly personality, government aide, fashion designer and a former White House intern with whom ex-president Clinton had confessed to having objectionable relationship in 1995 and 1996.
