Islamabad: Feb 02, 2022 (TNS): Prime Minister Imran Khan has said government is taking steps to protect the common man from the impact of inflation.<\/p>\n
Talking to a delegation of prominent industrialists and businessmen in Islamabad today [Wednesday], he asked them to work with the government for providing relief to the common man.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had included IT and textile export policy in its party manifesto even before it came in to power, its fruits are now clearly visible.<\/p>\n
He said due to business-friendly policies of the government, the country’s ten largest companies earned a profit of 929 billion rupees last year.<\/p>\n
He said government has taken historic steps to promote investment and business in the country.<\/p>\n
Imran Khan said exports of the textile sector reached a record high of 21 billion dollars and it is expected that it will expand to 26 billion dollars next year.<\/p>\n
He said Pakistan has become the world’s fourth largest motorcycle manufacturer. He said tractors’ export have increased by ten percent.<\/p>\n
He said along with the sectors of IT and textile focus should also be on defense production and engineering sectors.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister said during his visit to China, government will discuss enhancing ties between Pakistani and Chinese industrialists and setting up joint ventures.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa said there are vast opportunities in the defense manufacturing sector that can be benefitted through public-private partnership.
