Islamabad: Feb 18, 2022 (TNS): Minister for Economic Affairs Omar Ayub Khan has emphasized on timely completion of foreign-funded projects in Punjab.<\/p>\n
He was chairing the meeting of National Coordination Committee on Foreign-Funded Projects and reviewed the projects being implemented by the Government of Punjab.<\/p>\n
The meeting was informed that at present, the Government of Punjab is implementing 24 development foreign-funded projects amounting to 6,079 million dollars financed by Asian Development Bank, World Bank, International Fund for Agricultural Development, China, France, Japan and United Kingdom.<\/p>\n
The meeting also reviewed the compliance status of committee’s previous decisions.<\/p>\n
Out of 24 projects, the progress of 17 projects was rated as satisfactory, 4 projects as partially satisfactory whereas 3 projects were identified as problematic.<\/p>\n
The Committee also showed its serious concerns on the slow progress of Water Resource Project, Faisalabad.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister directed the line departments to strictly follow the timelines for expeditious implementation of the development projects.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that development projects must be executed in timely and efficient manner so that people can benefit from these projects without any delay.<\/p>\n
The Minister further directed to enhance the capacity of Project Management Units and prepare Gantt Charts for effective monitoring of the projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
