Joyland\u00a0has earned itself yet another international fan, this time the Bollywood and\u00a0Quantico\u00a0star Priyanka Chopra who took to her Instagram stories to praise Saim Sadiq\u2019s film, Pakistan\u2019s official submission to the Oscars.<\/p>\n
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the\u00a0Bajirao Mastani\u00a0actor wrote, \u201cJoyland\u00a0is truly a joy to watch. Bravo to the entire team for bringing this story to life. It\u2019s a must watch.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sadiq shared Chopra\u2019s Instagram story in which he was tagged along with the film\u2019s official Instagram handle. Both accounts thanked the Bollywood star.<\/p>\n
In two other Instagram stories, Chopra shared photos of herself side by side with SS Rajamouli, filmmaker of\u00a0RRR\u00a0and composer-songwriter MM Keeravani of viral sensation \u2018Naatu Naatu\u2019. She wrote that the least she could do is contribute to this \u201cincredible Indian film\u2019s journey\u201d and wished the team good-luck.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Telegu language hit film\u00a0bagged Best Original Song at the Golden Globes recently, but lost Best Non-English-language Picture to\u00a0Argentina, 1985. It became the first ever Indian film to win an award at the Globes and came out ahead of Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and director-songwriter Guillermo del Toro.<\/p>\n
Previously, Chopra showed support to Sadiq when the\u00a0Joyland\u00a0team was awarded the Jury Prize at Cannes last year. She had taken to Instagram and posted a series of stories to appreciate the awardees at Cannes. She started off by congratulating them and made a special shout out to \u201call the powerful talent from Asia\u201d for getting the \u201crecognition\u201d they deserve.<\/p>\n
Chopra had posted photos of the Asian teams among the awardees and started off with\u00a0Joyland\u00a0by mentioning the awards that the film bagged. Sadiq had thanked her for her recognition and in another story shared by the\u00a0Baywatch\u00a0star, she congratulated him.<\/p>\n
Sadiq\u2019s\u00a0Joyland, Rajamouli\u2019s\u00a0RRR\u00a0and Pan Nalin\u2019s\u00a0Chhello Show\u00a0are up for Oscars this year. Sadiq and Nalin\u2019s film for the Best International Film category whereas Rajamouli\u2019s for Best Original Song.
