His stereotypical portrayal of Pakistanis has become quite the joke this side of the border and one of the many critics of his latest film is actor Adnan Siddiqui, who finds\u00a0<em>Mission Majnu<\/em>\u00a0\u201cdistasteful\u201d and \u201cfactually incorrect\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Siddiqui took to Instagram on Thursday where he asked, \u201cHow much misrepresentation is too much misrepresentation?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean come on, yaar with all the money you have, hire some good researchers to do homework on us. Or allow me to help. Make sure to take notes\u2014no, we don\u2019t wear skull caps,\u00a0<em>surma<\/em>,\u00a0<em>tawiz<\/em>; no, we don\u2019t ask\u00a0<em>janab<\/em>\u00a0about their\u00a0<em>mijaz<\/em>\u00a0[temperaments]; no, we don\u2019t go around throwing\u00a0<em>adaab<\/em>,\u201d wrote the\u00a0<em>Yeh Dil Mera<\/em>\u00a0actor.<\/p>\n<p>Siddiqui added that there\u2019s so much more in the film\u00a0<em>Mission Majnu<\/em>\u00a0that he finds \u201cdistasteful\u201d and \u201cfactually incorrect\u201d and accused the movie of \u201chero saviour complex\u201d. According to him, the complex would\u2019ve worked better if the villain \u201cwas shown at par\u201d. For him, the antagonist was weak and embellished an even weaker protagonist, Malhotra.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPoor story, poorer execution, poorest research. Next time, come and visit us. We are good hosts. Will show you how we look like, dress up and live,\u201d offered Siddiqui.<\/p>\n<p>The film released last week on Netflix and was trolled online for stereotyping Pakistani characters and geographical landmarks in its portrayal of undercover spy Malhotra as a righteous Indian citizen on a mission to \u201cneutralise\u201d Pakistan\u2019s nuclear power plant.
