{"id":13812,"date":"2017-08-15T12:38:11","date_gmt":"2017-08-15T07:38:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=13812"},"modified":"2017-08-15T12:38:11","modified_gmt":"2017-08-15T07:38:11","slug":"kashmiris-observe-black-day-on-indias-independence-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=13812","title":{"rendered":"Kashmiris observe Black Day on India\u2019s Independence Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SRINAGAR Aug. 15 (TNS):<\/strong> Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and across the world are observing India\u2019s Independence Day as Black Day in a protest against usurping of their right to self -determination.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of observing Black Day is to\u00a0convey a message to international community that India has usurped Kashmiris\u2019 inalienable right to self-determination by the dint of force.<\/p>\n<p>The day will be marked by a complete strike in occupied Kashmir, call for which has been jointly given by the resistance leadership, comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, protest rallies and demonstrations will be held throughout Azad Jammu and Kashmir to mark India\u2019s Independence Day as Black Day.<\/p>\n<p>Black flags will be hoisted on buildings throughout the state. In Muzaffarabad, a big protest demonstration will be held at Central Press club.<\/p>\n<p>AJK Prime Minster Raja Farooq Haider Khan, leaders and representatives of various political, social and religious organizations will deliver speech on the occasion.<\/p>\n<p>Indian authorities had imposed restrictions on public gatherings\u00a0in parts of Srinagar on Pakistan\u2019s Independence Day. The curbs were imposed in Nowhatta, Rainawari, Khanyar, M.R. Gunj, and Safakadal areas of the city.<\/p>\n<p>Albeit, the officials stated that these restrictions were imposed to maintain law and order situation after killings of two civilians but many political analysts view restrictions as an attempt to prevent Kashmiris holding pro-Pakistan demonstrations.<\/p>\n<p>All educational institutions including schools, colleges and universities have been closed in the valley.<\/p>\n<p>Section 144 of the CrPC \u2013 prohibits an assembly of more than four people in an area \u2013 has been imposed. Officials said the precautionary steps were taken to avoid law-and-order incidents in the aftermath of Sunday\u2019s violence.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, two youngsters \u2014 Owais Shafi and Mohammad Sayeed Bhat \u2014 were killed in security forces\u2019 action against stone-pelting mobs in Pulwama and Shopian districts respectively.<\/p>\n<p>22-year-old Shafi sustained multiple pellet injuries who succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
