{"id":15107,"date":"2017-08-22T19:31:21","date_gmt":"2017-08-22T14:31:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=15107"},"modified":"2017-08-22T19:31:21","modified_gmt":"2017-08-22T14:31:21","slug":"mqm-postpones-apc-after-major-parties-back-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=15107","title":{"rendered":"MQM postpones APC after major parties back off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>KARACHI, Aug 22 (TNS):<\/strong> Mutahidda Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has postponed its \u2018multi party conference\u2019 after major political parties backed off from participation at the eleventh hour.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the media about the conference postponement, MQM leader Farooq Sattar said the reason of political parties\u2019 withdrawal from taking part was \u2018out of comprehension.\u2019 He said it\u2019s a boycott of social cause that MQM wanted to address and raise.<\/p>\n<p>PSP leaders are still ready to attend and I thank them for their positive gesture, he said. He, however, expressed surprise over refusal of other parties including PPP, PML-Q and ANP, to attend the gathering. \u201cThat was astonishing to note that parties told media instead of MQM-P leaders about their decision.\u201d We came to know about their decision through tickers on TV news channels, he added.<\/p>\n<p>He vowed that his party would continue to strive against culture of corruption, oppression and rights abuses. \u201cWe will achieve our desired results very soon against these menaces,\u201d hoped the MQM leader. \u201cWe understand that somebody is trying to sabotage our activities for restoration of peace\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>August 22 marks a year since erstwhile MQM founder Altaf Hussain made an incendiary speech to a crowd\u00a0assembled\u00a0outside the Karachi Press Club that led to violent clashes in the metropolis.
