{"id":15684,"date":"2017-08-25T17:17:40","date_gmt":"2017-08-25T12:17:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=15684"},"modified":"2017-08-25T17:22:06","modified_gmt":"2017-08-25T12:22:06","slug":"khawaja-asif-okays-reopening-of-raymond-davis-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=15684","title":{"rendered":"Khawaja Asif Okays reopening of Raymond Davis case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ISLAMABAD AUG 25 (TNS):<\/strong> Over the demand of re-investigating Raymond Davis case, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif on Friday said that he would stand with the parliament if it wants to reopen the case.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in a Senate session, Asif said that the issue\u00a0should be raised\u00a0with regard to compromises that were made to give a safe-passage to United States (US) national.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe matter should not be highlighted for point-scoring only; [as] it won\u2019t be constructive rather than in-camera grilling sessions or public investigation on the issue,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n<p>Asif opined that decision makers in their respective personal capacities and institutions should also be made part of the investigation for assisting an American national to flee from Pakistan after murdering two local citizens.<\/p>\n<p>However, he ruled out involvement of state institutions in the matter. \u201cPeople may have their personal interests relating the case and their international commitments,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD AUG 25 (TNS): Over the demand of re-investigating Raymond Davis case, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif on Friday said that he would stand with the parliament if it wants to reopen the case.
